Girlfriends in Christ Ministries

Girlfriends,

This year can only be described as
bittersweet. There has been so much
change going on here at Girlfriends
in Christ. I'm excited about the new
things that God is doing. However,
Change means letting go of the
familiar, learning new things, facing
challenges, and leaving behind fond
memories. With each step toward the
new my heart sinks with the loss of
the way things were. I liked it like it
was. But, God is teaching to move
according to His leadership, not my
affections. He's teaching me not to be
comfortable with my own abilities but
to trust His. Every time I think I'm doing that, He takes me a step further from my comfort zone,
and I'm learning the beauty of His faithful provision. It's always greater than I imagine.

The byproduct of His teaching me is a clearer focus for the Girlfriends in Christ Ministries. He’s
doing a new thing, and I’m excited to see what He has in store for 2008. So now, every time my
heart longs to stay with the former, I feel His gentle nudge and I hear Him whisper in my spirit . . .
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing . . . to give drink
to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise."

Is there something you need to leave behind in order to move ahead to the place and purpose that
God has in store for you? If you are His, He didn't call you to enjoy an idle life. He's chosen you
to bring His refreshment to the souls around you. I want to encourage you to live boldly for the
Kingdom of God and run for the prize of your high calling. There's nothing worth passing this up!

Please spend some time with us to see the new things going on here at Girlfriends in Christ
Ministries. I pray your spirit will be refreshed and your life will proclaim His praises.
